Official ICE guidance says the locator can cover people currently detained and some people released from ICE custody within the prior sixty days, but exclusions and reporting lag make a negative result inconclusive. If the jail record names BOP or the U.S. Marshals Service instead, use the federal locator or docket. Keep the county release and the later federal event as separate facts.
Two Randolph Release Systems
Randolph County has two prominent correctional institutions with different operators and records. The Justice Center grew from a one-half-cent sales-tax vote approved in April 2002. A 2003 audit described plans for an approximately 40,000-square-foot complex with a 76-bed jail, courtroom, court offices, and sheriff functions, at an estimated cost of $7.6 million. Those figures describe the project plan and must not be presented as the jail’s verified current size or capacity.
Moberly Correctional Center has a separate history and legal role. It was built in 1962 and opened in 1963 as a state prison. A person at the Randolph County Jail is under county custody, while a person at MCC is under Missouri DOC authority. The shared county geography can mislead a search. Always name the operator, then choose the correct roster, release record, and destination check.
Randolph Jail Boarded Prisoner Releases
The same 2025 audit confirms that Randolph County boarded prisoners for other counties during the audit period. A boarded person’s name can vanish from Randolph JailTracker because the originating jurisdiction took the person back.
